This custom contemporary / colonial hybrid style home was built on a lot that was originally occupied by a 2 bedroom ranch house located several lots away from the ocean’s edge, but with no ocean view. All the existing homes immediately adjacent were positioned at the center of their lots, so only those homes next to the ocean had a view. We designed this house to be contemporary on the inside, but colonial on the outside in order to fit in with the other colonial style homes on the street. We also placed the house at the very back of the lot, which allowed a view past the rear of the other existing homes to the ocean.
Included in the interior layouts was a 2 story family room facing the ocean with a second floor overhead balcony hallway leading to the upper three room areas. The balcony stairway was framed in glass windows, so that as one descends they are able to view the ocean. The design of this home and its placement allowing for these ocean views added several hundred thousand dollars to its value.
